kitchen backsplash and tiling help and inspiration

Hey houzzers. We had a Howdens kitchen installed which we are very happy with however we thought we’d be fine with just a wooden upstand and a glass cooker splashback however they did the wrong size plus it just doesn’t look finished! I’m trying to find the right tiles/colour scheme that won’t look too boring but think I might be limited with the colours and wood? Any tips or inspo would be greatly appreciated…

Also nb we had our floor changed it’s now a wooden herringbone in a paler ashy colour. Thank you in advance ❤️

Are you saying the glass splashback is the wrong size because it doesn’t go all the way up to the extractor fan? If so I’d guess that they’ve installed a standard size as opposed to a purpose made size. If so l would just take that one down and get a taller one made. You could always have the splashback all the way across the wall. l don’t think it needs tiles too. You could add a tint of colour with the emulsion,

I prefer a tiled finish, which would sit nicely with your kitchen style. If you have tiles it is better that the wooden up-stand is removed as it never looks right with tiles. It looks a bit heavy. So I would tile from the worktop up to the cupboards and then up to the extractor fan behind the range. There are so many gorgeous tiles you can choose from, either plain or patterned. Something like this.

Can you post some photos? It would be good to see the marble color and pattern in particular before brainstorming about the backsplash as you don't want anything busy if your marble has a fairly busy veining pattern. But even without a photo, one safe choice could be matching subway tiles to your cabinet color. This would make the brown marble counters stand out as the feature of the kitchen.

Shelves above the stove , just one more thing to clean, whatever you put there gets filthy. Love the blue color, the nice thing is in this space you could use any color. I love glass subway tiles they are timeless and come in some wonderful colors.That penquin paper is fun , how about in the bathroom or a childs room.

When we brought our house it had parquet in the kitchen, Before weIt has made had an opportunity to seal it our dishwasher flooded & they poped up. I recommend that u carefully research using it in a wet area before committing to it.
