Advice on wall decoration

Hi, We are renovating our kitchen (5mx5m) and the other side of the wall in the kitchen has some room for decoration.

Attach screenshot provides the layout and dimensions of the wall. I am looking for some advice or guidance to make this wall beautiful. I am trying to keep an electric firewall at the bottom and then the remaining area on top requires some creativity.

I want to utilize that space to keep family photos, echo show, candles, small decorative stuff etc.

Space on the other side (120cm), I want to use that space as wall hung unit for bar-type things like scotch, and wine rack.

Any suggestions or advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you so much for the inspirational idea. I really liked all the ideas, especially the first one. Let me check with the builder and see how it goes. I will share before and after images once completed :-)

Once again, carolins has taken the words right out of my mouth. I sometimes feel like a crusader for entertainment centers and lowering art! You have a dynamic room with so much potential. Your wall could look amazing with the armoire carolins has pictured above. Of course, lower your sconces so that they're a about 4" below the top of the armoire and about 7" from the sides. Your fireplace should be your focal point with your wall being strong but not competing. Rooms get personality from smaller accents but you have too many little things that take away from the great colored pillows and the picture. Be careful not to hang things in straight lines--top of pictures should never line up with tops of doors or curtain rods. I wish we could see your fireplace in another photo. Chairs should form conversation groups with the couch like Carolyn has outlined. I like your chandelier but you might think about lowering it or moving it above a dining table--it looks rather lost way up there.

I love your room, but it isn't done! Find some jazzy art to hang over the fireplace in vibrant colors. Select a major and minor color from the art work and add pillows, and 3 accessories that are LARGE to place on three places in the book shelves. If you like what you see at that point you are probably done, but if not then I think a glass and steel cocktail table round or oval would add sparkle, interest, and function to your room.....it really looks nice.

Living room decor - advice please

I live in a rented property so unfortunately I’m not permitted to paint the walls. I’m stuck with a boring magnolia on the walls in the living room. The floors are a light wood and the sofas are dark brown leather. I have bought this rug - see photo. I would like to add some nice curtains and cushions to make the room warm and cosy but I’m not sure what colours to go for. Any advice much appreciated, thank you.
