Wooden Slat wall with existing coving

Hi
We are looking at possibly getting some wooden slats to go the width of the TV unit, from floor to ceiling.
It dawned upon us that we have coving, which might end up making the area look odd as the slats would be thicker than the coving.
We have only recently decorated, so wouldn’t want to have to redo the work by removing the coving.
Does anyone have any photos of work they’ve done, or any suggestions how to make this work?
