Created a wall of grey!!
I designed my own kitchen and did not foresee that having an entire row of solid grey cupboards would look so imposing!I wish I had broken this visually with top cupboards being glass fronted or even had some open shelving.Do you think I should replace the top 2 solid cupboard doors above the ovens with glass cupboards with an oak frame to match the floor?

Comments (8)Hi---ok, so you have some different styles going on, but I think it could come together-just needs some balance with color, pattern, and a touch of whimsy... :) The wallpaper (w/owl) is a good color to incorporate into the space-works well with the sectional, dining table, and floor. The art pulls the color palette together, is contemporary with organic/circular shapes---relates to both the sectional and table designs. Pillows-masculine and feminine balanced-color palette repeated. Check BM's Seattle Mist and Brushed Aluminum for wall color. Hope this is helpful. Comments (6)My light casts it's frame shadow, but it's not that noticeable because it's way up high (see pic) mine is in a double floor height ceiling. I think if the pendant was lower, then shadows would be more prominent. Also, my light isn't as busy, so the shadows are less. It makes me happy as we did everything ourselves (took a while since only had sometimes time during the weekends). id love to see your kitchen as soon as you have the bodbyn installed. What colour countertops/backsplash, floors do you have? can buy a small “tester” can/container and try it. Can always be painted over. we really dont have much exposed wall directly next to the cabinets... except for the 15”deep (island against the wall). we have large opening above that “breakfast” counter to the family room (so as we sit we can watch tv that’s over the fireplace.). That room we also decided to paint the same as the kitchen. would have been too tight to have an island in the middle of the kitchen....See MoreSmita Bhat

last monthThank you for all your helpful suggestions.I put another plant in a textured rattan container and it makes a difference.Will change to pendants over the island ,get a linen blind with a rust border and at some point change the Kartell bar stools to wooden ones.That should make a little difference !
