Hallway room ideas
Hello everyone,
I am hoping to get some ideas and tips to furnish my hallway room.
It's a 4m x 4.2m open room, right next to the front door.
We would love to get your ideas on how to furnish this room.
The paints on the wall can be removed or adjusted to the right location.
Ideally, we would like to utilise the space to:
- wear/take off shoes
- somewhere guests can wait/ hang out and
- a casual reading room for us.
I'm thinking to get a shoe storage, a bench or small couch and a rug.
At the centre of the room under the pendant lights, we would also like to put a small round table where we can put some flowers on..
If you have any suggestions and ideas, that'll be much appreciated :)

Comments (9)Carpet on the stairs will help with sound! But if stairs are good enough, just paint them all white! Add a stencil on the riser - numbers or a saying is always fun...or even add family member names. Do you like bold colors? If so, the handrail wall could be a green apple. Something that works w the pretty stain glass. Also upstairs, there looks to be space to make that a built in bookcase. As for under the stairs, you can take out studs but you can build deep shelves and give it a stair step look. If you have large gym bags, make some large enough to fit sliding them in. Whenever we put in storage like that, we add plugs for iPads and cellphones. Easy way to remember to charge them! Comments (2)I think the only place you could put a tv is probably the corner by the window...over the fireplace is probably too high. a walnut floor and new fresher paint colour would be lovely, would you consider painting the skirting boards and fireplace white or off white to modernise them a bit? we've painted the skirting in our living room (also a walnut floor) and it looks so much better than before. Comments (0)Hi, I'm looking for some suggestions for what to do with this hallway. It's bare because we've recently moved in and have done nothing with it, apart from painting the walls. I was thinking of putting some sort of table or radiator cover along the back wall but if like some storage too, if possible. Just a few drawers or a small unit of some kind. I'm unsure what to do with the stairs too. There are pieces of timber missing from tge front of two of the steps so not sure if they can be filled or if I'd have to cover it. 2 months agoI would add a sofa under the windows and a chair. Would add an eye-catching sideboard on the wall facing the opening, that can be used as shoe storage, an interesting coat stand, an oversised mirror, lights, plants, and some small decor.

2 months agoI was trying to visualise the design - any suggestions for improvement will be much appreciated😊
What we would like to have:
- A shoe storage/coat rack stand next to the door for practicality
- A couch /sofa
- An arm chair or bean bag near the window (the viewing angle, opposite if stairs) would be useful
Everything except for the floor & wall, the staircase and the entrance door can be changed.

You get easy access storage close to the entrance that can be hidden away, space for shoes, bags, coats coats, brollies etc.
I’ve seen some very clever build it entrance/boot room style storage cupboards created using Ikea PAX wardrobes and trim/architrave.
You could still achieve the layout suggested by Marina or even have an upholstered bench running the length of that wall.
If you can, I would extend the hallway floor into that room and have a large rug.
