Which colour wood/laminate flooring ?
Hi, please help .I have an apartment and don’t want to change furniture. I have a brown/cabinet right of tv unit, same colour as sofa. Just need the right colour flooring to tie it all together, the tv unit and the dark brown. Want it to be classy but inexpensive. The flooring would also go into the hall and kitchen as all joining off the lounge.. Thanks

There isn't much difference between- I would look for a reputable supplier and not online though as the decent quality may not be there. Comments (15)First before you think of putting grey on your walls take into account the light in your kitchen. Where do you live? Is it sunny most of the year? Is your sky grey 4 to 6 months of the year in the winter and spring? Grey can be very depressing when you are surrounded by it day after day. My vote is for white walls or a light color. Comments (13)The sizes you mentioned for the flooring: 11mm or 8mm are not "widths" of the plank. It is the THICKNESS of the plank. Technically the thicker the laminate the "nicer" the laminate. Small rooms do well with lighter flooring. And please do not use laminate in the kitchen. It won't survive for very long. If you are going to do it, please purchase enough laminate to REMOVE AND REPLACE the kitchen TWICE. That way you can have the same floor throughout the house even if the kitchen is severely damaged....and the potential is VERY high that laminate in a kitchen will NOT survive a rental situation. Remember: in a rental, the life of a floor = 7 years on average. Laminate in a kitchen averages 3 years. That's why you want to buy enough laminate to install the kitchen TWICE....it's the only way you can get it to "live" for the full 7 years. Have fun....See MoreWhat colour wood? One of the main features in the design of an open floor plan is to draw the eye through the space. A herringbone pattern would be confusing to the eye.
