Where should the beds, wardrobes & radiators go?

Please help with ideas for the layout of 3 bedrooms. The blue cross in the black box represents a chimney breast that I can’t afford to remove at present. But leaving it creates an awkward shape to accommodate beds, wardrobes and radiators.

The master bedroom would require a 4 door wardrobe and a 2 door in the middle bedroom.

The small bedroom will be temporarily used as an office but likely to turn into a bedroom in future.

This is my first idea. I assumed that the single bed would fit between the external wall and the chimney breast (90cm); and the space between the window and the WC wall can accommodate a wardrobe of 60cm depth. The master bedroom I assumed that the chimney breast sticks out into the room less than 60cm. Please see the plan below for my suggestions. I think in the master bedroom it would be best to have a built-in wardrobe on the chimney wall and the shallow space can be used as accessories storage. I also suggest incorporating sliding mirror doors as this would give the impression of a larger room. This layout would not leave enough space for night tables but those can be incorporated into a headboard as per below suggestions. You could also have pendant lights on both sides of bed instead of traditional lighting. This would give you a wow effect and free space on the surface.

Thanks so much! I love the headboard idea & agree with sliding/mirrored doors. I had to remove the chimney breast in the end because of engineers compliance.

Thanks Chemayne, yes, that is correct re: position of the bed. There is a small bedroom behind where the bed is currently and ultimately i'd like to turn it into a walk in robe. That's funny, i never considered the grey bed to be masculine, although my mum didn't like it so maybe that should have been a clue! I keep coming back to it though, but not too sure if it is too low for the room. Unfortunatley there doesn't seem to be many grey beds around to compare it with. As for those pictures, thank you. However i don't think any of them are my taste. They are all a bit busy i think. I like the white trim which i am going to get done. I think from these i'm leaing towards Ighter coloured walls as well. I think the blue walls on number 1 is a bit much and no:4 with different curtains would be okish too.

fragle0 ... congratulations on the new addition to your family. Have been following your lovely changes. You probably won't have time to work on the decor for a while. Just wanted to suggest that you try pulling the nesting tables forward to be more in line with front of the chairs & placing your floor lamp to the back of them. This will give a bit more light at night for reading in that area.Also switching the plant by the fireplace & the one on the corner by the sofa.

Hi Zoe, I think I would have to agree with your sister! The right grey will look warm, whilst giving the room a fresh, clean feel. Farrow&Ball do some lovely ones, have a look at Elephant's Breath or Pavilion Grey. This colour scheme with wooden floors (natural or painted) would look wonderful. Injections of colour could then be added with soft furnishings. Hope this helps!
