please help - tired bathroom

I’d really appreciate some help from you lovely Houzzers!
My bathroom was fitted 25 years ago and I won’t be replacing it until next year, however I’d like to give it a bit of a makeover in the meantime, by painting the walls, putting in new flooring and cleaning the grout etc.
I’ve got some Karndean left over from my kitchen refurb so will
be able to use that and cleaning grout etc is straightforward, but I can’t which paint colour to use! The tiles are white with a grey-blue accent. I like blush colours, or do I go grey, or blue, or stone….
I’ll put some pictures up so you can take a look.
Many thanks!

The bath panel and shelf are in Kirkstone slate.

How about dark on the walls? Can be a lux look against the white. A dark dark navy - the dark bath panel comes across as a deep navy black. Or a dark charcaol with a hint of navy.

With wood accents in the venetian blind and dispensers (soap holders, cannisters etc)

If you're planning on replacing it next year, I'd leave it as it is. It doesn't look too bad, and you'd only end up having to redecorate again.

I re-accessorised my bathroom pending a full on update. Surprisingly, one of the biggest updates was from the blind. I went with a white faux-wood Venetian and it instantly updated the room. I changed over all the soap/ shampoo etc containers to glass-look amber and put in some candles and a nice stone plant pot for the plant. Some fluffy colourful towels too. It looks much better without spending a fortune.
I think your painted wall, in a bold colour, will make a big difference too.

Dulux Denim Drift is a lovely blue, not as dark as navy, but dark enough to contrast with the white tiles and create a bit of interest.

If you just want it to feel different I would paint the walls to match the darker colour in the tiles and then move around all of your pictures. I would add a wood blind to match the floor and buy new towels.

If you weren’t going to replace it all in a year I would say replace the slate bath panel as it’s the most noticeable thing to my eye….. however it probably isn’t easy because it’s slate so likely this will have to wait.

Thanks Sonia I love that blue! and Jonathan you are so right about the slate panel! The man who lived in the house sixty years ago worked at the local quarry. I loved it when we moved in but I think it’s time for it to go…

Is next year such a long time to wait? If you really want to go ahead, take the grey shade from the tiles to paint the walls. Get accessories to match/co-ordinate with the slate bath panel. Get toothbrush holders, towels, waste basket etc in different shades of grey. Buy a decent blind to go with your update later next year. An expensive blind can transform a room all on its own. Maybe get a blind with bold mixes of colours, that you can mix and match with when you change the decor, or stick with neutral if you're not keen on bold colours.

Not worth doing anything if you are replacing it next year. Just a waste of money.
