Roman blinds on 4 pane bifold doors?

Hello, We have a 4 pane bifold door, in my head I would like 2 x roman blinds that somehow cross slightly in the middle. The opening is 3.05m wide and the bifolds open so that no part of the doors come into the room. Will this work, if not, what would work please - we'd prefer not to have curtains. Thanks

But wouldn’t the Roman blinds interfere with the stacking of the bifolds when folded? There are blinds that sit within the frame of each bifold which may be a better option.

Hi Sonia, the blinds (I'm hoping!) will fold up outside the revealing not foul as all the doors and mechanisms fold up outside the house, nothing comes inside the window frame if that makes sense. Just struggling to see a working example though

I would also definitely go white if the windows are on the green wall. Will be much more natural to tie the accent wall with the stark wht contrasting walls. Always a very chic contemporary look. Also very relaxing as opposed to the treatments standing out when you already have your standout feature- the green accent wall. Great white bed you ordered! Then I love all the blue/green/ silver accent advice. I did a similar room in purples/greys/ whites and we used great posted prints of florals with a little oriental flair in nice big mats w frames. You could do florals or nice big botanicals in greens would be very fresh and modern!! White or silver frames or maybe even the shock of black would be cool.

Hello Jen, I am so surprised that no one has mentioned vertical blinds to you? They are very much back in fashion and work beautifully in a room such as yours. They come in 3.5" veins, which mean they will fold back and tuck into each recess when fully open. They turn to let as much light in as you need and then close when you want full privacy. They will be fitted in the recess above the windows. You can either have one complete rail length or two so you have a separate section over the door. You can have what's know as a middle split, i.e: half goes left and right. Personally I would suggest one length that opens to the left, therefore leaving your door completely uncovered when open. The pulley system is very much like a roller blind and are safety fixed to the wall so children can not get caught in them. They come in a huge rang of colours and materials and better still they are very affordable. I am working with a number of new developments in Hertfordshire at the moment and these are what the clients are all asking for. Adding width BEHIND THE BED - with a headboard (which doesn't have to be a "headboard"; it could be fabric, collection of mirrors, collection of pictures, a farm gate!, small chairs or stools) across the entire width. Matching bedside tables/bookcases/chests/ with LAMPS - useful storage for extra books, extra bedding, etc. CURTAINS always warm up a room. People will always feel colder away from home - provide an extra blanket or duvet to add to the bed. I notice there is no WARDROBE. Not really necessary for overnight guests (provide hooks on the back of the door) but useful for storing your out-of-season coats, etc. There is plenty of room behind the door. Buy one on eBay and paint it to suit your colour scheme.

Hello niamh6426, A nicely proportioned set of rooms.. Lovely features, nicely done! Bring the sofa in the opening further into the room so it doesn't block the flow... Ideally move it away from the french doors? So a few things to suggest here.. Why not paint above the picture rail the white to tie in with the ceiling.. the lavender and sage work nicely and so it really is which you might want to pick out.. I'm thinking of the chimney breast to bring it out into the room with even more focus..... A deeper purple/grey, charcoal or deeper olive green ... With any of these colours you could have some light charcoal accessories... Silk cushions etc.. The colours would also work with the existing wall paint. Rather like the charcoal colour and it would work with a slightly darker greyish purple too, so throws and other cushions could be also very complimentary.. :))
