Looking for paint colour and decoration ideas.

Just moved into this house and looking for paint and decoration ideas! Floor and couch are not changing but we are open to ideas for everything else. I do like the idea of a warm white on the walls and maybe a dark colour like blue maybe (?) behind the sofa. We also quite like scandi decor. Any ideas welcome for the colours, furniture, decoration! It's open plan into the dining area where we have a dark blue island and light/sage green kitchen.

I think either Jasmine White or Goose Down would go well with a Scandi look. I personally wouldn’t go for a blue feature wall, I would use art, accessories and plants to bring in colour and interest.

Don't paint behind sofa, it will visually bring that wall in and it will make the room look narrow. Keep things light and neutral but add darker colour to alcoves of fireplace. This will add depth. F&B Wimborne White is a lovely warm off white and pairs well with darker colours, like a lovely rich blue or green in alcoves.

Possibly contraversial idea - but consider roman blinds on window as curtains will also have narrowing effect, unless they tone with walls.

Since you are reconfiguring the footprint of these spaces, I suggest you get a local pro to help you develop a floor plan that accomodates your requirements and budget. As far as cabintery and finshes, etc, there are unlimited options - so any suggestions would be a shot in the dark without knowing more about budget and what style you are looking for.

You have a great space to work with. If you decide that you would like a colorful area rug then that could be your jumping off point to bring other colors into your rooms. You have alot of wall spcace for beautiful artowork, mirrors etc. I would decide on the area rug first and once you do that colors for your drapes and pillows and throws and accent pieces will come from the colors in the rug. If you decide against a rug then choose a piece of art and the colors for everything can come from that as well. A far as your drapes over the rad I would shorten them to above the rad, or a roman blind would be nice.

I'd paint white the TV wall in oder to make it visually higher and to hide the white color of the door, now the dark color under lines that it is rather low and different from two main doors color and height of third one. I like brown FP wall, it works good with sofas and will attract eyes visually raising the ceiling above TV furniture. And one more thing I'd think about: the 1-st photo shows that there are too much unconnected different heights (doors, mirror, TV furniture, FP wall, ceiling). Definitely some heights are needed to be connected. I'd put lower the mirror and the shelf above FP so that the TV furniture and the mirror up lines were the same height. To bring more colors into the room as it was mentioned above I'd pick up some colors from the art work for cushions and curtains.

Hi. I'm not sure what styles you like? Perhaps a scandi feel? Extend the grey paint to ceiling, back of shelves and skirting boards. Paint the shelves an off white and remove half of the books and mix with some art and accessories.. Paint the bed and cabinets in a pale grey and move to the right ŵall. Add white and charcoal bedding. Maybe an updated anglepoise in black or dark grey ( not too tall!) for the bedsides. Add a dark grey/ black scandi chair with sheepskin throw. You could also age the floor in off whites and pale greys, if not add a rug. Finally a mirror opposite the shelves to make the room feel bigger.

Another thought would be paint whole room your preferred blue colour, and go for cosy luxe vibe. Strategically position mirrors, like above fireplace and/or sofa to give illusion of light and depth.

You mention a sage green in the kitchen, could that be your new color wall with the warm white? See if you can find a swatch of a sgae gren to try against the lounge.

Sorry only just seen your post, Hope I’m not too late! Love a sage green. I have it in my living room on all the walls. It’s quite a cool colour but I love it. Mine is Cromarty by Farrow & Ball. My son has painted his walls in a blush pink with silver grey sofas and it creates a very elegant look. I’m not a fan of feature walls as they can be difficult to incorporate into a room setting, but if you do decide on blue then paint the fireplace wall. Here’s my room and then a blush pink room.
