Help! Thoughts on bathroom layout. Is it too late to change?
Hi.
I'd appreciate any thoughts and comments on our current plan for the bathroom. We've had the electrics put in and it's all been plastered but I'm having major second thoughts as I feel the bath is too small (150cm) and it's touch and go whether it will all fit once it's been tiled anyway.
If possible, I'd like to not mess around with moving the electrics too much, but if we have to then we have to.

Comments (3)Since you are keeping the flooring, everything new has to be in relation to the floor. Do you have a photo of the floor? Hold up samples of the cabinet paint and see if it enhances the flooring. You might need a more cream paint on cabinet and see these dark knobs. Some of the marble-type have many gray streaks. I'd look for something with brown-beige streaks to enhance the beige grout and beige floor tilehttps://www.houzz.com/photos/traditional-bathroom-traditional-bathroom-phvw-vp~93581 The back splash I'd do in the same "marble" as the counters b/c if you match the beige grout of the floors, with the subway tile, the back splash tile will look odd and if you use a white grout on the subway tile, it will look odd with the floors, too....See MoreHelp with my living room

Comments (11)I love the tall units but you need to go straight to the ceiling to prevent dust and dirt settling on the top. I would put a row of small up and over cupboards along the very top as an option. Very handy for unsightly bulky items. I don't like the end open shelves by sink very dated but what you could do is a long double shelf all the way along the island with a wine racking either side for balance vertically. I think shelving each side of the sink would be better. You have a lot of cupboards but no deep drawers which are highly valued these days. Good selling point. I Like your colour suggestions... The little Greene paint company have a lovely grey so does farrow and ball. Where are you sourcing your Quartz and what flooring? Do your ovens have easy open shelf doors ..handy as they retract so don't get in the way as you take food out..Neff offer best ones. If you want a better balance of tall you could always do fridge freezer one side and pull out pantry on the other with racking. Then on sink side don't go all the way along the wall just have it as centred space so you can pull out larder doors. On your island you will need your bin as this'll be prep area? What is the room opposite tall cupboards? Need the island to look good from that side as that is what you will see. Hope of help. last monthI guess you've already resolved this one way or another as the thread is 3 months old, but there are a few ways to do it. Final solution depends in part on positions of soil pipe & drainage, but assuming it causes no problems for that, a layout like this would work:
Going with a "curved corner" bath opens the room and takes away a sharp corner. I'd also consider doing the same to the shower with an "offset quadrant" shower:
Plumbing permitting, the basin & WC could be swapped.
