To paint or not?

last year

Looking to freshen up the fireplace, husband wants to paint it white and keep the oak shelving as is. Anyone done anything similar?

Yes, we definitely need to see the fireplace before commenting! Actually, magnolia is a classic and maybe you're best to add colour in your furnishings/accessories, as you have with your new curtains. We need to see the furniture etc. as well. Could you hang the mirror on the back of your door? You may need to get stronger hinges to cope with the weight. As for paint for the drawers, either the same colour as the wall or the colour of your existing furniture and decorate as the previous commenter suggested. God luck with it. By the way . . Very neat bed-making there .

Our house is currently painted white but i want to change it up. We have a chartwell green door, dark grey windows, grey stone and some light grey panelling on one end of the house where we built on a small extension. It’s a bungalow that now has an extension on both ends so to avoid it looking too long we added the panelling to break it up Any advice greatly appreciated
