Joiner created media wall and all looks great now it is painted except the join between plasterboard and black metal fire surround edge. There's gaps and rough surfaces.Would best bet be to just caulk and then paint over again? Any solutions would be appreciated!

Any better solutions than just caulking and painting?

With the first picture I would use filler, let it dry then rub it smooth, then paint. I can’t work out the second picture. Is it a mirror?
