Is my house sinking?

Hi,
So I have been living in my house for 8 years now ( the house is around 20 years old ) and recently I have been noticing more and more cracks on the inside.
Specifically the living room. Which has a hairline crack going from one side of the room to the other. Half way along the wall the hairline crack turns from horizontal to diagonal. Also, directly below this wall my wood flooring has sunk a little below the skirting board.
Other hairline cracks have appeared above door frames.
Outside my home there are a few issues too. The plasters around either side of the front door has been breaking away and there is a large crack in the concrete ground in front of my home.
It is worth adding that all the houses on my estate have been underpinned around 10 years ago.
Could the house still be sinking?

What you may need is a geotechnical survey to understand the type of soil your house is standing on and if the current foundation is adequate. The egineers can also give you a forecast of how the soil will behave considering weather etc.

Hairline cracks are common in most houses. I have quite a few in my 1930s house. Houses are almost like living structures and will move depending on sub-soil. If you are worried then maybe a structural engineer can have a look?

HI -- If one of those very modern open style vanities that have a full formed sink top was used instead of the two separate pedestal sinks , that might work and not spoil a house sale . The tops come in various sink arrangements such as one big trench or two formed ones and they have top counter space . The sink tops are a feature but on an open fancy frame base made of metal or wood. And the sink tops are varied made out of formed glass or concrete or porcelain or stone . Very cool looking .

There is not enough light entering my house and too many doors!

I feel that there is not enough sunlight entering the house, I was thinking about putting a glass window above the living room to allow light into the dining room, or have a sun tunnel, (circular reflective tube from the roof to the, dining room etc, however I don't know what to do, or who could do it, I have no idea what to do. What would you do? Thanks in advance I leave a floor plan so you can get an idea of what my layout is.

Hi, I am having trouble deciding what colour to paint my new home, I would like to keep the cottage / farm feel. I have just started cleaning the roof which turned out to be a red asbestos slate of which im thinking of painting black or slate grey. It depends on how big the cracks are- as Sonia says small cracks are normal and indicate it’s time to decorate. Cracks in your path are also very common because the foundations are negligible but equally the repair is simple and cost effective.
