My dad has just painted Dulux Tranquil Dawn (pale green) and bought new grey sofas for a living room but can't decide what carpet would work best. Advice needed please. Carpet colour? Accessories/cushions? Thanks
Does the carpet need replacing? I think it looks fine, but if your dad wants a change I would go for a lighter grey or a pale taupe, maybe. . With cushions, you could try dusky pink or dusky lilac, or yellow or a mixture as below. Go to Pinterest for more ideas, there are thousands of images in there.
I have Tranqil Dawn on my walls in my lounge and grey sofas too and l have a mid grey carpet. My sofas are much lighter than your image so l would suggest a lighter grey.
If you are going to change the carpet I would go for a darker charcoal tone and would choose a mustardy tone for the pillows. That would bring a bit more contrast to your scheme since the sofa and the walls are so close to each other in the pallet.
Think the carpet looks fab actually and goes well with the wall and sofa. I would get a deep clean and then add rugs, cushions, throws and plants instead!
