Amtico Flooring

Want to use Amtico in our entrance hall and steps in Amtico's natural wood finish. Thinking I should use planks because any pattern would be hard to replicate on the steps. On the steps thought I should go with white painted risers so that it has a lighter feel and does not look too brown and woody. Have been on a journey here! Started off thinking wooden floors, then considered engineered wood and then laminate and after looking at all the pros and cons, believe Amtico will suit us best--their Signature range. It is not a big entrance hall. Would love anyone's thoughts on this including pictures if you have used Amtico.

You could do a look like this if you choose the right linoleum. Be careful or it could look cheap. The black & white pic is probably tile but could be done in linoleum. Second is marmoleum. Get the real linoleum (not shiny)

Laminate wood flooring throughout? Yes or no

Hi Cherry, we went with the laminate throughout the house and it turned out absolutely stunning. To be honest it's such good quality I don't think of it as laminate and everyone who visits thinks it's solid wood. It won't look like laminate if it's a good quality brand and you use a thick underlay. Using it throughout the house makes the rooms flow and makes the spaces feel bigger. It's also really easy to maintain unlike shiny glossy tiles! Good luck!

Hi. totally off point but.... Have you ever considered a real interesting eye catching piece of art work to really brighten up this area I think a select piece of art would really make the space stand out, add interest, colour, texture and add a great talking/thinking point to the room.... A15) @Dara Cooke: If you can't afford a quartz or granite worktop from day one then I would recommend using a laminate worktop as a temporary solution. If you don't put tiles up as a backsplash then replacing the worktops can be relatively easy in a couple of years.

My only concern with using it on stairs (not steps) is safety when people just wear socks because it may be slightly slippery. Even if you have LVT in your hall you could still have carpet on the stairs if you prefer.

Thank you. I am thinking there might be less of a risk of slipping if there is nosing at the end of the step? Maybe I will have to leave the stairs as is. That is a high traffic are and even though I use wool carpet it still wears out and has to be replaced every five years.
