Kitchen Help
Comments (9)Happy to help ! I'm only a short swim away in England !! I think if you want a truly opulent cream for the kitchen cabinets - I'd suggest you get a colour match for the range ! It looks a very creamy cream ! Think it could be stunning ! Then have slightly lighter walls and tiles to keep the room feeling light and airy ! If you have walnut stain for your worktop on your island , I'd suggest using that on your exposed legs if you go for the dipped paint look on the table and chairs ! Are you having the classic CC shaped island ?!?...See More?? Tiles or wooden flooring
Comments (4)Hi, I would incline to tiling the whole space in one material. Now, with that you have lots of options in terms of material choices. If you have underfloor heating I would recommend to go for porcelain tiles - they come in wide range of colours, patterns, stone and wood imitations. Marble and wood imitating tiles are very popular and timeless such as calacatta white marble, creme marfil marble, granite, slate. Wood porcelain tiles range from blonde tones, light, dark browns to almost black, zebrano. Porcelain tiles technology has evolved so much over the last decade that an untrained eye can not distinguish the porcelain from the real thing. And if you have children it's so much more practical as well. Easy to clean and maintain. However, if you don't have the option of underfloor heating I would recommend wooden flooring. Again throughout. I wouldn't break the flow with different flooring types. If you have your living room in that open plan as well, I wouldn't worry too much about changing the flooring type just because of it. You can always use large rugs to define the area and function of that space, and make it more cosy. I just completed a project with porcelain tiles throughout. You can have a look at my profile. More images are on my website. I'm happy to help so please get in touch if you need more specific info. I offer lots of free information on my blog and via social media. I'm more than happy to point you in the right direction. Hope this helps. Karolina...See MoreKitchen Colour
Comments (10)Hi, I think Elephant's Breath would be stunning. I used it before on a project in a open plan living and kitchen area in similar room position and it looks great. If you use the Elephant's Breath I would keep the cabinets one colour. The actual colour looks different at certain times of the day or under natural and artificial lighting. Sometimes it is more soft grey and dark and other times it's quite bright and light. I wouldn't go any darker than that. The tone is more in warm so no blue or cool grey. I would suggest that you mix the cabinet units with calacatta marble worktop and splashback which is a white marble. Or you can go the opposite way and use black marble like nero marquinia or dark granite. Natural wood would also look great. If you want another colour option I would also consider Old White No4. It's more into green tones and even warmer. I have a dining room project on my profile with the display cabinet painted in this colour. You can have a look there. Hope this helps. Comments (37)It looks very good James. Even though as you say it was a clients design build, it works fine. Once the Island has stools it will fill it out better. Has that naked look at the moment. The position of the wine rack might cause issues but overall it looks like a really clean and fresh kitchen. Plenty of natural light and the colours compliment each other. The extractor is a nice feature too. Everyone has different opinions as I see on here but if the client is happy with it then job done. Looks really well fitted too.....well done :)...See Morehbinger
