Bowing glass in sliding doors

I’ve had large sliding doors fitted by the builder doing my extension. In high winds we were alarmed at how much one of the windows started to flex and bow (very alarming). when you press on the glass the whole pane bends as of its will break. The builder wont return any calls and the glass supplier says its 4mm and within spec by milimetres given the size of the door. It looks like theres no argon in the unit but he says the builder has to sort ot out. I’m lookimg for a governing body that can help resolve the issue…anyone help?

What are the size of the doors? Can you post a photo. When we supply we always ask for Argon filled. Can you ask to see a specification of the door supplied?

With a sliding door, you can have each side different to match the style of the room it faces. Here are some ideas that, believe it or not, are done with sharpies on flat surfaces. I can envision a "fireplace" on the lounge side. On the dining room side, you could do the "double door" look, by putting half on the door, and half on the wall next to the door. So when the door is closed, it looks like a pair of doors, but when the door is slid open it looks like only one door (but it's the wall!) I added the 3rd picture just because I think it's so cool. I believe the only "real" thing in the room is the glass table/desk, and the filing cabinet.

I want to design a whole section of my house. It involves knocking walls etc. but when finished I will be left with a space 20 ft wide x 16.5 ft long leading off a living room & separate corridor to a garden. Room height will be 8ft. Currently there is a window & sliding patio door, but ideally I would like to replace with an entrance (nothing fancy) & glass wall or bi-fold doors. Very rough sketch of the space attached.

Hi, I think any of those 3 could look good, with white elsewhere as a contrast and bringing in some bright warm colours with cushions, throws etc. We repainted our house last year and used Farrow and Ball colours - Elephants Breath is very popular and looks great in our living room, we used their darker greys in our sitting room and hall. You can get Dulux to mix FandB colours so it works out cheaper if you like. I was afraid of it being cold or dark but love it!

You can put a test on it to tell the thermal values which will prove whether or not Argon is in it. It will also tell whether or not it is K glass. You cannot tell simply by looking at it whether or not it is Argon filled. Glass does bend though.

You need an independent glass surveyor.

For comparison, each panel on our sliding door is 2350H x 1325W. Because of the size the glass is 6mm.
