Paint colour for home

Hi everyone,

I wish to get advice, on which colours to paint my house in.

The doors of which will be oak and the floor also be oak or engineered oak.

Which wall colours match these? I prefer something light or something sunny...as long as it doesn't turn out to be funny!

My daughter wants lime green in her room. That's not negotiable unless she changes her mind.

Any advice would be much appreciated

Many thanks, that was very helpful.

Ideally, any light colours, which reflect light.

Originally I liked the colour yellow or sunset yellow. However, as I am not good with these colour matching etc, thought that it may look garish!

So any advice would be much appreciated.

Hello 9woodview, Have a look at Little Greene, They do a fantastic range of chalky paints for walls and woodwork.. Whitening is a gr8 one for ceilings and then there's a whole range of neutral colours to choose from that can add contrast, compliment and look bold and vivid at the same time.. Even with more subtle colours you can still create an impact. They have a few brighter colours that might not spring to mind with the word neutral! Think of the furnishings and accessories like mirrors etc that will also add to it.. Smaller pieces can add a lot to the look and feel of a room.. Once you have decided on a colour scheme.. I would suggest no more than 3 per room and if you want to create a flow between the house you could compliment the colours in slightly different ways or tones throughout.. Adding things to emphasise will help to lift lighter colours.. Consider golds, woods and lovely mirrors or pictures.. :)) http://www.littlegreene.com/paint/colour/neutral-paint

Wow

It does look nice, may be ask the decorator to paint the doors white?

So yellow is stylish and not shocking !!
