cladding for dormer - planning required..?

We are cladding our rear elevation dormer but cannot seem to find if we require planning for whichever colour cladding we’d like to choose. (Building regs have approved the cement fibre cladding)
The original roof tiles are reddish brown but we’d prefer a different colour. Whichever colour we go for will also clad our rear extension (single storey, permitted development).

Call your local planning ask question as you might have a conservation issues, get it in writing too if you dont

Have given them a ring but Bromley don’t do phone advice! They are request to go via their planning portal which will most likely be a drawing submission, which seems a bit over the top..

Hi Shelwal, Garden Rooms can be a good idea. You would get your extra room and depending on what you decide on ( size/style/final use etc), most can be built under permitted development rules, so no planning permission would be required. We build ours with Structurally Insulated Panels (SIP) panels, so they are quick to erect, cheap to heat and last forever. Gosh, I've returned after a week travelling for work to loads more suggestions - thanks all! To respond specifically: - the house faces south so gets the lovely morning (and in the uk, sometimes the only) sun. - the husband has avoided putting plants in the planters due to maintenance and they're generally twee so comments here have confirmed to me that they will be coming out - love the idea of wooden boxes with the spiky plants and grasses - also like the concept of taking out the grass/bed/tree in front completely out and replacing with slabs - yes to lightening the windows - to the Barn company, I honestly don't mind the advice and I'd never seen sloping garage roofs. - nicking ideas from landscaping of new builds....great idea! - finally, Helen Scholes, I'm embarrassed about the spelling of kerb. Had no idea! Thanks again all.

A few things I would change from experience...instead of a single and double door I would spend the extra money and put in a bifold corner section...would open up the space so much more. as for the kitchen...completely flip your design...put your breakfast bar closer to the window...make it large and multipurpose with the hob in it and then put your main band of cabinets either left, right or behind? We have recently restructured our existing cabinets to this layout and put in new countertops and it works far better than before!

Planning attic conversion with front and rear metal clad dormer. Not too keen on the usual grey colour that’s commonly used. Have brownish roof tiles. Would appreciate suggestions re colour or examples if available .

When you google it everything suggests you can clad under PDR unless you’re in a conservation area, article 4 direction in place etc but then the planning portal states otherwise unless it is of a similar visual appearance (which I doubt it is?)
