Expected finish on velux rooflights plasterwork

We have just had our house extended and I am really happy with the quality of the build. However, we have had large (1x2m) velux rooflights put into our ground floor extension and, when viewed from above, the finish of the plaster work isn't quite what I expected. The edge of the plasterboard is visible and there is a thin gap between it and the window frame.
Normally, I wouldn't care but, as these are so huge and they are visible from the first floor window, it feels really obvious.
Has anyone got any ideas about how it could be neatened up for when my builder comes to snag? See photo (apologies for cat paw prints!)
