Building a Home Renovating Design Dilemma

What changes can I make in this house?

My wife and I are trying to purchase our first property together. However, the search has been very hard. In between that came this house and the area it is located in, we both fell in love with. The issue is there is no direct access to bedroom 1 from thr outside we have ti walk through an ensuite room to get to another room, which is rather frustrating. We were thinking of extending the existing extension upstairs and pushing the bathroom backwards to create an opening for a door to be installed. We are not sure the best course of action as we are not professionals, hence came here to seek some guidance so I can give my wife the house of her dreams

My first story kitchen extension looks like it's separating from the main house. There is a 2 inch crack in the concrete all the way round. Is there anything that I can do to fix this. I was going to suggest what Jonathan has drawn. I think it’s an easier option than building up the extension, which may not be possible if the foundations are not suitable for a 2-storey build. You could use the old bathroom area outside the bathroom as a small study area with desk overlooking the garden. I’d also consider what to do with the downstairs bathroom - it looks like a lot of wasted space. You may be able to use it as a utility / laundry or boot room, either as is or section off a part of it.
