Neighbours extension wall
Comments (19)The rules may have changed but when we built our extension the wall adjoining our neighbour had to be completely within our own boundary. It looks as if your neighbour has continued along the party wall and therefore half the depth of the wall is on your land. It might be worth getting a chartered building surveyor to check it out as otherwise it may cause difficulties when either you or your neighbour come to sell. If I'm wrong about this maybe a professional on here could correct me. Other than that I think you should make the best of the little private courtyard it has afforded you by using plants in pots and climbers to soften the wall....See MoreLiving room decor, incorporating old furniture
Comments (11)I think you should consider installing wood or laminate flooring for a more on trend look. Do this first so that you have a nice frame to place your furnishing. Keep the walls painted as they are for now while you figure out what you want to do furniture wise for the room I think you should consider where the TV will be placed so that you can have good viewing and then have the sofa placed opposite the TV. This way you can enjoy the room if tv is going to be placed here. After that the other pieces will fall into place for you. You might also consider making the mantel deeper to display the radio antique? It could be a nice focal point in the room and on the fireplace. Also I like the current color of your room....it will work while you are figuring out what goes where. Paint LAST when you have your color design established in your upholstery. No need to have 100 dollars worth of paint dictating what the sofa color will be. If you do not have funds now, then place things you have now and take your time deciding what you are going to do first. But as your walls look fine and you are not sure about furnishings then do the floor and wait for the rest as funds become available....See MoreLiving room decor - advice please
Comments (0)I live in a rented property so unfortunately I’m not permitted to paint the walls. I’m stuck with a boring magnolia on the walls in the living room. The floors are a light wood and the sofas are dark brown leather. I have bought this rug - see photo. I would like to add some nice curtains and cushions to make the room warm and cosy but I’m not sure what colours to go for. Any advice much appreciated, thank you....See MoreLiving room decoration advice
Comments (0)I want an elegant, classy living room that is not very feminine. I love brown and cream. I can’t buy new couches, furniture, or area rugs. The area rug is new. So I have to figure out how to rearrange what I have. my first task is to fill the area bellow the oval black mirror. And then the decorations. I’m wondering if there are too many tables and If so, what should replace them? Please let me know what works, or what other ideas you have for the room. the bottom picture is what I first started with, so it has come a long way already!!...See MoreJuliet Docherty
