I would think it depends on the finish on the tiles when originally purchased and fitted. They might have been a matt finish so they will never be shiny.
Thank you . They are original tiles so been there over 120 years . I would like to get them cleaner but I think the dirt is engraved in the tiles unfortunately..
I’ve never used these products but Lithofin state they are suitable for Victorian tiles. Reviews on Amazon are good and some reviewers have shared photos and video so worth a look?
I do this as part of my business. Those tiles will need chemically stripped to remove old "restore" style products, polishes, etc. Then the tiles need deep cleaned with a high PH cleaner, rinsed and left to dry for around a week. Then they can be sealed with an impregnating colour enhancing sealant, such as Dry Treat CE. This is a breathable product. These floors were normally matte unless they had an early powder glaze.
