Replacing wooden windows

We are renovating/extending a 1918 bungalow/cottage. We have had a large extension built to the side with upvc irish oak windows throughout.

Our plan was to replace all exisitng windows with upvc as we have in the extension (most exisisting windows are single glazed and rotting) however we are now having second thoughts about the windows at the front of the house which are Edwardian style and in not so bad condition.

My question is, are there any benefits to replacing them with UPVC and modernising the whole house or would this be a big mistake? the other option is to match the only other front window to the other two and have all of the windows sprayed the same colour.

The whole house is being rendered in an off white colour.

Any advice would be appreciated
