This stunning bedroom transformation came from the brilliant and creative mind of My Bespoke Room designer, Celine!

After being challenged by COAT paints, to design a room in her home using the finest COAT paint, she designed her incredible bedroom!

Celine began with a blank canvas for a room and it needed a total rethink! First, she selected the Poodle and Blonde linen fabric here, on either side of the bed and then the ‘Humble’ COAT paint colour was used for the feature wall behind the bed. Celine wanted to contrast this with a lovely warm tan colour that would mirror the tan she used downstairs in her living room. She then further accentuated the design by using COAT’s ‘Safe Play’ for the walls and ceiling which is a lovely warm neutral.

Celine struggled to get the right shade of orange. It needed to work with the fabric as well as the wood tones in the room. It also needed to be restful being in a bedroom, which can be a tricky balance as orange can be so vibrant and energetic! The mood board enabled her to test different shades to find the perfect one.

Finally, to tie the scheme together Celine added black accents like on the skirting board by using COAT’s ‘The Record Store’ colour.

If you have a Lowe's nearby, take a look at the Pergo Driftwood Pine Laminate Flooring (top photos.) Even though it has a rustic, beach house feel, I love the color. It's a silvery/white/taupe (for lack of a better description) and that would be striking with your wall color, white bedding and black/brown bed. My other suggestion would be Brazilian Teak, (bottom photos) which is beautiful. It really depends on what makes you feel good and what you love living in! Christi for ThosBaker

With the wood trim, and a white crown . .. I think the duvet color scheme wants white painted skirting and window / window sill. Then, try a softer violet on the accent wall .. .since both the red or the blue could coordinate with that but otherwise we have opposites - As a backdrop, violet can be nice with gray and white. Look at bm faded violet http://www.benjaminmoore.com/en-us/paint-color/fadedviolet#ce_s=violet and bm picket fence for the other walls, ( a soft warm off white that echos the tone of the carpet) with crisp white trim. http://www.benjaminmoore.com/en-us/paint-color/picketfence If you want a deep shade, look at wood violet .. http://www.benjaminmoore.com/en-us/paint-color/woodviolet#ce_s=violet the thing with a small room is that a shot of intense color can do a lot if paired mostly with neutrals and white. Great if you have a white wood headboard or padded slipcover above the bed, white matted art. . .. you do have good natural light, but with a dark wall you will want bedside lighting to be light and bright for nighttime. Here, the wood provided a gold element that was sort of helpful with the blue but will clash with where you are going.. Paint it out, and voila, you are on your way. . . there is a thread where a woman focused on white with coral - I'll find it and bring you the link so you can follow her decision making - she chose a strong accent wall in a small room and then concentrated on white and it is lovely.

Please, please, please, don't paint any of the wood. You have a beautiful setting for mid century modern décor. I can agree with removing the carpet from the stairs, however I would just want to add a jute floor covering for the stairs after. The light fixtures should probably both be changed. You even have a lovely roomy space in your foyer. I always recommend starting with the foundation of the room, which is the floor covering. Kilim, ikat, Persian or Oriental would be my choice. I would think minimalist would be very fitting in this space.
