Velfac Ribo front doors? Any good?

Hi everyone, we're about to go for Velfac 200 windows, including patio doors, in anthracite grey for our little project in London, but apparently not a single distributor's showroom in the entire city has Velfac front doors on display... should I be worried?

-Pros: Easier to go with one supplier for everything, and it will all match.

-Concerns: are they good quality and do they look good in real life?

Does anyone have any thoughts, or even photos they could share?

I managed to find a couple of doors on Houzz (from R2 and Platform 5), the door type we like from the Velfac website which has very limited photos is:

Ed, sorry I missed your post first time around. We've recently had Velfac front and back doors installed, as well as Velfac windows (not sliding doors though, went with Ultraline for them as I didn't like the opening method of the Velfac ones). We were able to see a door at the Swindon build centre if that's any good for you (and check if it's still there of course). The doors are, I think, amazingly good value. You don't get many options and the Velfac person we spoke to said that they're not hugely popular because there's not much bespoking you can do to them. But we were happy with them as it shaved thousands off what we would pay to other similar quality door manufacturers. We've got a solid front one (similar to your pic - no window in the door but we have one side pane which lets light through) and a half and half window/solid back door. Really happy with them and they work well visually IMHO as they sit well against the windows.

Hi, you have a lovely home! I read through your thread, and I like Dar Eckarts suggestion above the best. I think because of the symmetry of it as an H shaped house is symmetrical, and it would also keep the space looking decorated but still open and uncluttered which is what an entrance should be. Sorry, but I don't care for the bookcase idea in an entrance. I also noticed the masks you have, and think it would be great to decorate the space using them as inspiration. Here is a photo to show you the kind of rug I think would work here.

Since you have a choice of any color, don't choose colors that clash with the purplish pink paint next door. I'd choose a creamy white for the body of the house, and very dark purple (aubergine/eggplant) for the trim. Navy blue would also look good. Avoid red or green. Awnings would look great. I can see striped awnings in a cream and navy, with the building colors selected from the awning colors. If you can't eliminate the wires, run them through conduit or cover them with an approved casing that runs right under the windows. Paint the downspouts the same color as the body of the building.

Hi, I think that you could give this house a smart contemporary look with the grey windows that you suggested. I would break each window up into two or three panels though, this would give each panel a more elegant vertical emphasis. A timber front door is always nice though, the image above shows one of our houses with a similar hip-roofed style and grey frames (the windows here are openable too). It is good to match the window frame colour to the gutters and/or eaves fascia & soffit. In this house we had an iroko timber door and eaves which brings a warm high quality feel to the house.
