We moved into a new build so have been trying really hard to not make it look like a big white box. Instead of using the 2nd biggest room for the spare we tried to make the 3rd room work instead. There isn’t enough space for a headboard only a bed frame to be able to walk around the bed so we painted the headboard on with Valspar Devonshire Green and Beach Dune 🥰 what do you think?
The headboards I saw were too expensive tbh and because they have those wooden sticks to attach them it would have meant the bed would be pushed out even just a few cm would have made it harder to get past so went for this to save money and space 😊
Looks fab. I think curtains would add a little more cosiness and always complete the room. Don’t have to be expensive. Well done! You certainly have an eye for colour!
Son had a similar problem. He got a piece of Mdf cut to size, glued foam on and then stapled fabric to it. He attached it to the wall with heavy duty clips thereby doing away with the need for ‘wooden sticks’. Worked a treat without impinging on his space. Cheaper too.
I like your colour choices, really cosy feel. What I also admire is where people have used wooden panels / slats as both a headboard and also to create a strong visual wall display when entering a room. This can lead to the room feeling taller.
Hey Angie, i painted the light colour first just roughly on the wall where I wanted it. I then drew out the semi circle using a piece of cardboard, I nailed it to the center of the space and then poked a pencil through it to draw the circle. The straight lines down I frog taped and painted the light colour over the edges first so the green wouldn’t bleed through. Then I cut in the circle with the green using a really soft tapered brush, the smaller the slower but also the more control 😊 Here are some in action shot if it helps
Looks fantastic and great work! Just noting the comments that mention curtains, personally I think a Roman blind would work best in this room. Still adds a bit of softness but neater and less fussy so would complement better.
