Girls shared bedroom furniture/layout help!

My twin girls share a room. They are getting a new bunk bed which will be placed on the right hand side of the room. They only have a chest of drawers and a pull out toy chest for storage as you can see. What would you suggest adding/removing in terms of furniture for storage and where would you place it?
It's a small room, so very limited for ideas and I can't currently see the wood for the trees now... help!
Also, please excuse the clutter and mess, 10 year old girls tend to hoard Nik naks 🙈!

I’m not too sure which way right is on this photo but for storage, have you considered a wardrobe? It doesn’t have to be fitted but if it was it would really maximise the storage space. Since the room isn’t massive stick with white or other light colours. I would recommend a full size wardrobe not really low kids ones because soon their clothes won’t fit in it! The low draws could make a really cool seating area if you add some cushions. To display their items a shelf could work well anywhere in the room. Make sure any storage works hard and the potential wardrobe has space for all their clothing. Hope this helps!

Second the wardrobe suggestion. Maybe a cubed display unit the same height and beside the robe, so the higher sections can use baskets or felt tubs for storage and the lower sections can display the precious items.

HI -- gross635 -- Your right to some degree but you can't move the main floor bath to the other side because then that interfers with the floor plan on the second floor. Would not work . I would have loved to turn the whole plan around but it won't work in this case. Added note to what I posted before is to get rid of anywalls you don't need and also not every room has to have a door. Like the one on the lounge and the one at the end of the hall. I would open the lounge up by not having the walls on the entrance hall . As for a closet , there is space in front of the set back powder room for some coat hooks etc. I also question the fact of , if the lounge is really needed. Everything could have been shifted to the front and the kitchen set back , then that would have made a larger dining/familyroom area . But that would have ruined the resale value . So I think moving the bathrooms was the lest and best for this plan. One question I have , is this an English plan ?, because the English love putting doors on every room ?And usually the doors swing the wrong way.

sorry haven't been on here much and havent had time or money to much about my room but should be getting to work in the next few weeks/month. I've added some more photos to give a better idea of the layout of the room and the dimensions. the first one is a view from the bed or the foot of the bed, so you can see the wall space isn't massive. The horrible curtains are waiting to be changed when I get all the work done! The second photo is the other wall to show where the door to the room is. Carolyn the wardrobe in the photo there is the one I'm going to put in the nook and then I was thinking of getting a carpenter to build shelving on the wall where the wardrobe currently is. Around the bed then would be more storage and shelves either side to act as bedside tables. As anyone any ideas for the type of shelving I should be looking to get built? I would be looking to hold - clothes that wouldn't be hanging like jumpers, t-shirts etc. I would definitely need an area for books/magazines, an area for toiletries and maybe then storage for items such as bed linen, blankets and random items like chargers for phones, laptops etc.

Take out sofa, use beanbags and those blow up seats for their friends. Coloured rugs for tumbling and crawling on. Supersoft teddy bear blankets so they can curl up. Add in one of those soft blanket boxes for toy storage and so you have somewhere soft to perch when you are with them. Paper half way up the wall in the wall paper that kids can draw on, so they can decorate in whatever colour they like and you won't mind. A childs lift up desk, bookcase and some crazy lamps in weird colours. Then close the door, collapse on the sofa that you have moved, breathe a sigh of relief and thank your lucky stars that you have another room for the kids to go to. (Grab wine and pretend they aren't yours for half an hour! ;-) )

Equally some trundle drawers under the bed would add to the storage. Ps keep things like off season clothes in the upper cubes to avoid climbing expeditions.

I like the pink photo because each girl has their own cubby at the end of the bed for 'stuff'. Your 10 year olds will soon be teens and clothes will take over from toys. I'd think you'd fit this in your room, just not sure about fire regs of putting it in front of the window.
