Downstairs Toilet

Hi, I've recently got my downstairs toilet painted and wallpapered - however I didn't have enough wallpaper! I now have one wall painted black.. I am finding it hard to source more wallpaper as I bought it awhile ago, I can get it but it is quite expensive. Should I just order more wallpaper, or could I leave that wall black and put some artwork on it and make it look intentional?? The black wall is the one that's facing you when you are sitting on the loo!!

Definitely art deco. This is a hard one. From houzz pictures, it looks as though you could extend the Juliet floor out and then add a roof but a builder would have to figure that one out. You could have another roof line on the side and have your porch there and access it from inside, which might turn out even better as you would have a great summer entertaining spot. Have you put in Art Deco in exterior photos? Great ideas.

Hi, I would incline to tiling the whole space in one material. Now, with that you have lots of options in terms of material choices. If you have underfloor heating I would recommend to go for porcelain tiles - they come in wide range of colours, patterns, stone and wood imitations. Marble and wood imitating tiles are very popular and timeless such as calacatta white marble, creme marfil marble, granite, slate. Wood porcelain tiles range from blonde tones, light, dark browns to almost black, zebrano. Porcelain tiles technology has evolved so much over the last decade that an untrained eye can not distinguish the porcelain from the real thing. And if you have children it's so much more practical as well. Easy to clean and maintain. However, if you don't have the option of underfloor heating I would recommend wooden flooring. Again throughout. I wouldn't break the flow with different flooring types. If you have your living room in that open plan as well, I wouldn't worry too much about changing the flooring type just because of it. You can always use large rugs to define the area and function of that space, and make it more cosy. I just completed a project with porcelain tiles throughout. You can have a look at my profile. Hello Edel, Well you are in the fortunate place having a loo and shower downstairs.. I am sure this might become useful when the boys are older.. So if you wanted more wardrobe space.. This doesn't have to involve wall to wall cupboards.. You could have free standing wardrobes.. A bigger bathroom would mean you could have double wall hung sinks and large walk in shower and a separate bath.. Wall hung loo as well.. Or possibly you could create a wet room style shower and loo and separate walk in closet.. accessed from your bedroom. Keep a bathroom next door.. Hard to tell if any of these ideas could work without a plan.. : ))

Hello ! I have been trying for several days to find how to best complete the look for the downstairs toilet, I really love the floor tiles but im struggling to complete the the rest of the look, is looking way too white and the white skirting boards don't seem to match with the tiles either, but I have no idea what to do? Im not sure if I should paint the walls or maybe a feature wall or panelling, painting the skirting boards or just limit to adding some wall decorations like plants or photos? I also don't know what colours could match! Any idea is much appreciated!!!!
