Painting our whole house
Comments (10)I think most of the non-pro's who comment on here love interior design so aren't likely to have used a pro tbh but I may well be wrong! I'd have a word with AJ, you can also look at her design dilemma suggestions for others houses if you go onto her profile. alternatively click onto the find pro section and search for designers in London. You can have a look at their galleries, reviews and indicative costs. Or you could just post each room on here and all types of people will provide feedback! The potential downside of this is you may not get a cohesive look, plus it may be time consuming for a whole house. In terms of the hall, white needs light to work and the end looks a little dark although that may just be the pic as my iPad turns even the brightest rooms dark! The tiles also appear more cream than white so maybe a white with a yellow or even a red undertone may work best or a pale, warm neutral. You could also go for a colour, the floor will stand out whatever...See MoreShould I paint the floor boards white?
Comments (17)It looks very pretty. I would look at pics of painted floors versus whitewashed and see which you prefer then people can hopefully help with methods. I've used chalk paint but not on a floor. Annie Sloan sell floor lacquer so you don't need to use the wax which is very time consuming to apply, the lacquer can be rollered on. The only thing I would say is that it does not adhere to I think varnish made in the 80's and I find the White paint coverage is poor although not an issue if white washing. I wondered if there was a cheat method using zinsser to avoid sanding if using normal paint and have found this, no idea on how successful it is! http://www.zinsseruk.com/how-to-guide/how-to-paint-woodstained-or-varnished-surfaces/...See MoreChalk board paint in kitchen
Comments (2)Hello Sarah, Well if you're not keen on the blue you may wish to change.. There are a number of chalk board paint colours so you could choose a charcoal for example rather than a black.. There is a blue and a rust colour and also a pink I have seen... With white too also seen, you can mix and create a colour that might give you more options.. . :))...See MorePainting Dilemma
Comments (0)Hi I am painting my house at the moment and time is precious on it as the painter is on site. I would appreciate any recommendations from the Dulux range - House is c. 700 sq foot, rooms small and south facing. I have coving, so I was thinking of a pure white on coving and then an off-white on the ceilings and neutral colours on the wall that create space and are warm at the same time. Doors and skirting need to be painted as well so should I keep these a pure white as well? Living area has smoked oak wood on floor. Carpet will be light cream / beige in the bedrooms and hall. Would appreciate any help as I am against time on this as the painter is on site and has all the prep work done. Many thanks in advance for any advice....See Moreaidanscotland
