Floor dilemma in new extension

We've recently had a new room added at the back of our house. The rest of the floor is wood block (parquet) but when the builders did the floor they finsihed it flush to the parquet so now we can't have any flooring that's too thick as it will be too high. We have been trying to get as close a match as possible with LVT but there's nothing that matches in our price range, and even the Karndeen art select that does come close is a different shade. What's more, we have terracotta tiles on our kitchen floor, so don't want lots of different floor types downstairs as it's all open plan. Any suggestions?

Comments (21)I agree with victoriabunglowranch, scrub it and repaint in one of the colours of the piece, I'd personally head towards dark and moody colours for walls, with crisp white ceilings, how about wrapping the chimney in smokey mirror in same shade that you paint the wall, I agree floor is very busy, would like to see a large rug here to keep the focus on the fireplace and I'd keep the "mantle area" free from objects, the fire place is enough, art work on side walls and floral pieces on coffee tables or buffets, I'd also choose luxe furniture and fabrics in one of the lighter shades shown in the fireplace, perhaps with a slight leaning towards art deco in some pieces and then spice up with accent cushions, art, lamps and lighting. Comments (1)There is a company called McCann and byrne (they have a shop in County Meath )who are specialists in all matters of air tightness and carry a great range of products and they are very good at giving advice.....when we put new windows in our extension we used air tightness tape which we found made a huge difference. 2 years agoHow about an ordinary vinyl flooring that's not too expensive but tones in with the colours of the terracotta tiles and the parquet? You could change it in a couple of years if you want an update then?
