I am wondering what to do with the empty wall space around my TV. Would wall art look good either side of it? How about above it? Maybe a shelf? Or would it be better to leave that space blank? Pics attached - look forward to hearing your thoughts
I think it's fine. You don't have enough room to put anything above or around the TV, so dont feel the need to do anything about it. You could paint the wall.
A feature wall using a dark paint such as navy or green or a colour that fits the rest of the room would look good. Paint the whole wall including the box to the right. I don’t think you have the space for any artwork.
Years ago when I studied design one of the first things we were told to do was look at the whole room, where the natural light falls and use the space to make the most of this. This wall would look completely different depending on where the windows are so just to suggest painting it a dark colour may not be the best idea. What colour is the rest of the room? Also there is a radiator behind the sideboard, may be a problem when choosing paint, as this would have to be the same colour for a cohesive look. Is that a cat on the sideboard? I think you may have to look again at the room as a whole, if you are going to repaint the whole room stick with a feature colour to compliment the problem wall, don’t just waste your money guessing, buy some tester pots that match what you already have and you are happy with on the colour you have on the other walls. Good luck
