Any Suggests On Deco As Some Areas Are Too Dark.

Hello all, my friend thinks that his new hallway & lounge areas are too dark.

I suggested that he should get light wood herringbone floor tiles for the hallway and then large light floor tiles in the living areas. Keeping the carpets upstairs.

Paint all the doors a lighter colour and change the living room door to a glazed door to allow the light in from the garden into the hallway.

He has velux windows in the lower extension part of the living room and the dining area but the kitchen and the area behind the study are dark spots.

Any other suggestions?
