tell me about your cork flooring

Tell me about your cork flooring- what rooms do you have it in, was it glue down or planks, did you fit yourself? And would you have it again?

Would love to know if you went for cork flooring in the end. I am considering it but I am interested to hear feedback too!

Hi Mc, still not decided! We are having en suite fitted and bedroom carpet isn’t great so we’re considering doing both in cork. We had some samples from https://www.corkstore24.co.uk/ and were considering the engineered planks, need to make some progress on the bathroom first. What room are you looking at?

Hmm... since the B&B is red too, wouldn't it be confusing? Because I thought that the foxfire would be a useful colour for giving directions: 'look for the large red building'. And then all your guests end up on the doorstep of the B&B. Mind you, it will work the other way around too ;-) I love that warm red colour with the grey roof.

Hi catbox/emerald18 - your kitchen is absolutely stunning - I love it - mostly because your style is the same as mine - only the tiles I've chosen are Henley Cool from Topps Tiles (sage green/blue). I've also had a few moments of indecision but I've had a picture and sample of the tiles pinned up for months and I still love them. I'd chosen matt slab style kitchen door fronts but I might be convinced by your photo to change to Shaker. I am also going for the wood worktop but can't decide whether to have a Belfast sink or not. What sink did you choose? I also can't decide on a splashback, but like white painted brick + something more cleanable by the sink and hob. Once again, I love love love your kitchen - I'm pinning the photo of it up with my tiles picture in case I get future wobbles about my dream kitchen

providing engineered flooring is laid correctly it will not lift. It will move but not enough to notice anything which is why it was designed with a ply back. Tiles are best for spreading heat but they also cool down quickly. Engineered flooring keeps the heat for a bit longer. There is not much in this its more the look you want?

Choosing floor tile!

I am back again. I decided against the tile originally proposed as the advice here was totally right, the tile had a strong pink/salmon tone. Thanks so much to everyone. I have been searching again and attached is what I am now thinking of going for. I think this tile is very neutral, should match a lot of colours, is warm and easy to keep. It should also match a modern kitchen. Opinions please!!!

I’m looking at the entire downstairs of a large renovation so it’s a big decision 😬. I live in Ireland and the choice here isn’t massive so I might consider getting a couple of samples sent over from the UK. Thanks for the link and let me know how you get on!
