Bed under window and new en suite

We gutted this room as it was damp and not at all cosy, we removed a chimmney breast, and plastered all walls we have all pictures of work in progress, i would love your opinions on this room be it good or bad what you would change etc, the bed under window was really the only option as if it was against blue wall there would be a lot of crabbing. thank you all xxx

Shame it won’t go against the navy wall as it doesn’t look great in front of the window. What do you mean by “crabbing”? 😊

Looks too cramped to me. Like you tried to fit too much in. I would get rid of the dark colour on the feature wall and get a lighter coloured duvet and curtains to lighten it all up.

Thanks for the suggestions. We have considered moving the partition wall and have asked our architect to draw sketches of the same but he's not keen on the idea! Great suggestions so far - any further ideas much appreciated!

http://houzz.com/photos/3642990 This link kind of demonstrates the use of mosaics and the mirror idea I thought may be cool. Obviously they are vertical but I think it would work either way. Any pics of your tiles? I have seen your other post and know your suite is 'traditional' but another thing to consider I guess is the cost of the mosaics. £££ using lots may mean a big dent in your budget.

Can you change the entrance in the small ensuite to service the back bedroom; then convert the small bedroom into an ensuite for the master bedroom? If you move the wall on that room right out to the door of the master bed you'll gain, in guessing, 300mm. Ensuite at 2m*2m would be large enough, you'd then have the space for a narrow walk in wardrobe 2m*1.2m, giving a walking space 7/800mm wide, just big enough. To get natural light in the you could put glass in part of the partition walls up high, both at landing side and ensuite side. Alternatively, make small room into a jack and Jill, big saving on cleaning and make old ensuite into wardrobe.

Thank you for this and for attaching the photo to demonstrate! Lovely idea and would be ideal in the room. I’m not sure what you mean by extending the curtains? I was wondering about adding a recessed curtain rail and having it in an L shape to fit the other window too. Or maybe curtains on the large window and a Roman blind on the smaller one? crabbing is when you got to walk sideways all around the bed sonia. thank you for your feedb clare i not one fir light colours, as it gives me a headache lol also needed dark blackout curtains as i work nights, i now have a more lighter cover on bed thank you for input

Ah yes I know what crabbing means now! We had that in a bedroom on holiday, drove me crazy!

we were in spare room whlle we were doing this room and it involved lots of crabbing so even through bed would proberly look nice coming down, i wanted to walk in room and around bed, i only have a small old house lol , like you it drove me mad.
