Hi. We have a Davidson’s Bicton home and I just can’t make the main bathroom work…….. I’ve tried a free standing holder but it didn’t look right and annoyed me as it quickly collected dust and water marks etc. I’d like to mount it on the wall but can’t find a position the is functional and looks okay……. Any ideas please?
Tricky. The toilet looks very close to the bath or I’d say attach to the side of the bath maybe. Or possibly a vertical “post” attached to the left edge of the tiled area behind the bath. Not sure how much space you have by the basin. Could you fit something to hang from the basin? I guess it would get splashes so not ideal. We have a floor standing holder which is what I would go with but you’ve found that doesn’t work for you so I’m out of ideas! Angie
The only place that I think would work is a holder between the loo and the basin. I have a freestanding one as I have the same problem. I don’t particularly like it but it’ll do for now! 🤨
I think a plain post type might work and Dunelm have a few chrome ones very reasonably priced. You can also get more quirky ones - I have this one in our main bathroom, made of an antique shoe last (photo from a website). It’s actually really narrow so I think it could fit between the toilet and bath.
I’m someone who always thought wall mounted toilet roll holders are the way to go. But my new bathroom has the toilet between a wall and the bath, so there’s no room. Between the toilet and the bath, about a foot or less higher than the floor, there’s a little shelf covering pipes, just large enough for a toilet roll, so it sits there. I reach for it when I need it and then pop it back. It works. You could try putting a small stool under the basin to see if that’d work for you and if it does, install a floating shelf?
