Need help with sofa choice for living room
Comments (37)Hi, thanks for your comment. I totally agree - I actually have a large art print on order (vertical/ portrait orientation) and that will be replacing the mirror when it arrives. From previous comments I received everyone seems have different opinions on sofa choices but I think I'm pretty happy with the L shape one I've gone with - it fits the space a lot better (I think!) than the 3 & 2 seaters I previously had. I contemplated going with a different lighter sofa colour but practicality won in the end!...See MoreHouzz Live Chat - Designing a Dream Kitchen, 1 pm, 15 July 2016
Comments (80)A15) @Dara Cooke: If you can't afford a quartz or granite worktop from day one then I would recommend using a laminate worktop as a temporary solution. If you don't put tiles up as a backsplash then replacing the worktops can be relatively easy in a couple of years....See MoreRender and Window Colour Combination
Comments (0)Hi, Moving into a new house which is currently painted white with white PVC windows. We're planning on replacing the windows with Aluclad windows and I was looking for suggestions on colour combinations. Initially, I was thinking that I'd repaint the house white and go with Anthracite Grey frames. However I'm a little worried that it's very fashionable at the minute and might date in the next couple of years. I've also seen a few houses lately with lighter coloured windows which looked good. One had a grey with what looks to be almost an olive undertone with the walls painted a deep creamy shade. I'd be really interested to hear what colour combinations other people have gone for and whether I risk dating the house as '2016' with a white/dark grey/anthracite combination. I'll post photos later of the house as it is currently and a mock up of the house with dark grey windows. Thanks a million!!...See Moreground floor layout - stuck on how to reconfigure!
Comments (11)I don’t think your plan for a playroom is an economical plan. Firstly it’s an additional small room- this house has enough rooms for any family- what you need is larger rooms. You have stated you want a kitchen with an island- the space you currently have won’t accommodate an island but if you did extend the kitchen this will likely add far more to the resale value. The rooms at the back of this house have two doors to the patio- you intend putting the playroom just here meaning you loose the best route to your garden most likely resolved by replacing the Dining room window with French doors….. and moving the radiator, replacing the floor and building a new patio! The living room at the back of the house could be a playroom for the next few years- perhaps you should make an aperture to the dining room to keep an eye on the kids....See MoreCez
