living room privacy blinds

we live very close to a busy street and currently passers by can see into our living room.i would like privacy blinds. i originally thought of those that pull upwards but the new windows have doors that open oout so don't think they will work now. any suggestions?

I was going to block them because I thought it would give us more room for a couch! The rooms pretty narrow so the couch doesn't fit in great! So you'd stick with a couch where it is now & add another by the small door?

Agree with alant1000 about starting from scratch, but not sure about white. They are some lovely either light grey, light green, or light caramel, which will keep the room warm feeling, and less stark. The wallpaper feature wall you presently have is far too dark for the room - if you want wallpaper, there are some lovely sparkle designs, or stick to paint and do a slightly darker colour than the chosen wall colour. Have you thought about painting the doors white? The dark curtains do not help either. Do you need curtains and vertical blinds? If you lost the curtains, the window would look neater and lighter. Why not do both? We have several styles of Roman Shades at The Shade Store! I'd consider inside mounting our Flat Roman and flanking each window with stationary panels in our Ripple Fold Drapery. Curve our decorative drapery rods to the contour of the walls. I'd suggest the stationary panels to cover from just under the crown moulding down to the floor, this will add height and drama to the room. I need some advice on how to dress both these windows in my living room. I have 5 windows in total including a patio door to the left. I looked into shutters but unfortunately the windows are too small to allow them to open out properly.
