Gut feel is the frame shapes you have are right for that house/setting.
The sort of low rural building lends itself to simpler windows.
I can't see if they have georgian bars (I'd remove if they do) A darker or just different colour frame perhaps outside & leave white inside for light.
I would expect a sash window to work better with high ceilings inside - like a victorian house taller shaped building - but thats probably because that is where I've seen them most often.
It's all entirely personal though - I don't think there are hard/fast rules.
I agree with Richard L. Sash windows tend to be better suited to houses with high ceilings, with window apertures that are roughly twice as tall as they are wide. They’ll sometimes work on cottages, although with these proportions sashes often look squat.
The style of your current windows looks well suited to your house, and white is fine, but a pale green/grey would also work.
I would stick with the design you currently have. I don’t think sash windows are suited to the design of the house. You will also find sash windows more expensive.
