Island vs U shaped -
A or B?

I like the idea of an island but an island width of 1400mm leaves us with only 7700mm gap to the window so I am leaning towards B.

What is that on the island?

A 1400 is very all for an island, the kitchen space is small enough that I'd say you might as well make it u shaped. Can you sketch the floorplan with measurements as there may be a better option

There will be plenty of room for you to have an Island within your Kitchen / Diner. I would possibly look into a maneuverable island rather than a fitted, to ensure that you have ample space should you cater to more than 6 guests. (I've attached a Layout). I've a large open plan pitch roof kitchen that leads into a standard size living room. I've painted my living room F&B Pigeon and railings on the skirting board to match the railings on the island in the kitchen. I had planned to paint the kitchen pigeon but I'm now doubting my decision. Any suggestions on alternative colours to complement the pigeon or should I just go bold?

Hi Ellie - the island is 1846 mm but that leaves only 770mm towards the window which makes that gap effectively a dead space (IMO). I just realised I’ve made the mistake of saying it’s 1400mm. With 1400mm the gap would be over 1m on either side, but as you say it doesn’t leave much of an island.

Also consider the space you need to get the FF out for servicing etc ….
The peninsula offered a tad more room by the look of it ?! But what’s the gap between the peninsula and the hob area ? As you need crouch room infront of oven.

Doh - the oven isn’t under the hob is it !! Not such an issue then ! ( coffee not kicked in yet )
