Hi I have a hole I need to fill which is 30x40mm with a depth of 35mm. It was created when the curtain pole fell off so I need to fill in a way so that I can reinstall the curtain pole fixing. any ideas of the best way to fill?
You could fill it with Polyfilla, let it dry, then sand it smooth. Then paint it to match the rest of the walls. I wouldn’t use that patch of wall to attach the the curtain pole as it may not be stable enough. You could attach a wooden batten right across and then attach the pole to that if the wall is a little unstable.
If there's a cavity in the wall, you'll need a piece of plasterboard or similar to stick behind the hole before filling. Otherwise the filler will just drop down into the cavity.
