We have a 20 year old flat roof extension - the roof leaks, even though we’ve replaced it. I can’t seem to get our local council (Hounslow) to respond on whether replacing the flat roof with a sloping roof requires planning permission or is allowed under permitted development. Can anyone give me any advice please?
Everything I’ve googled would suggest you need planning. I’ve added a government link but the key bit is page 38/9 as any alteration that is higher than the existing highest part of the roof needs approval. That’s my understanding anyway
Thanks for the link. It’s confusing though as the highest part of the existing roof of the house is way higher. And there’s a part under permitted development that talks about it not being higher than 4m for its highest part and 3m for the part where the guttering is. Has anyone encountered this please?
