Hi, I have a grand plan to borrow space from living room to extend kitchen into a Kitchen/diner/living. The existing Living room would lose one alcove and become a snug in my head. I've seen how I could make the chimneybrest and alcove cohesive with use of paint colour and built ins. But my question is...would it always look off and asymmetrical without a 2nd alcove?
Pic below taken from kitchen. The idea would be to take the first alcove, which TV unit is in, leaving single alcove and chimney (initially; would possibly replace fire in future) and put sofa under window to make a small snug room. Thanks!
Um, yes I think it probably would look odd with a single alcove. Could you post floorplans to see if someone can come up with an alternative idea? Do you have room to extend out?
