Hi guys! Need some of your help. I’ve just rented a studio with a kitchen that comes with a red wall as shown on the picture. I am planning to re-do all the furniture/decor in the adjacent living/dining and bedroom areas. The gray couch on the image will stay. Which colour scheme would you use around the studio in new furniture pieces & decor? Any suggestions on which design style should be used throughout? Your help would be greatly appreciated!
The wall shows on my screen as a deep red, not a bright zingy red which might be easier to work with. You could accessorize the sofa with deep red cushions, or rug on the living area floor. The grey works well, as does the dark bookcase between the sofa and kitchen. You could continue with dark legs on any side table, coffee table with grey wood surfaces. If you need any other pieces, ie tv stand or unit, would grey wash items work? Lighter and whiter is certainly more popular and you have inherited decor elements from a darker style era. Certainly indoor plants will work not mattter what. If any drapes are needed, these could be in grey, with a texture.
I see a red kettle, but it doesn't really sit well as it is a brighter red. You could go dark, black even, on these bench top items, or bring in brushed stainless steel for some reflection.
