I do not see velvets and silks for a kitchen sink window sorry. There are plenty of gorgeous fabrics around with beautiful damask or geometric pattern that are striking, that could be found in a faux silk or linen. Velvet is something that I would never put in a kitchen. But it is your kitchen.

You could always keep the binds that you have, and add a curtain in a side swipe to dress it up a bit more. So the blinds will control the light and the curtain is decorative.

I'd like the shutters option above (nice example pics!) but I'd probably go for solid shutters & keep them open during the day because the example above just block too much light for me! In M-C Bennett's case, seeing as it appears to be a dark room, I'd go for solid shutters on the bottom & just leave the top window as a feature, uncovered window! Downside of shutters is, yes, you keep the use of your windowsill, but you have to remove everything to open & close them! Nothin wrong with a nice neat deep velour curtain either!!

I too would suggest plain walls as otherwise it would be too busy, unless you want the maximalist look.

Yes agree little greenwood paint. Livid might work well. You could have a complementary pattern on bedding

Hi - What an enormous bedroom - so envious. Presumably you will have installed the standard double bed etc. This room could easily take a strong colour paint on the walls, as it has the space to accommodate so much more without making it look too busy. How far have you got so far?

I would also loose the pelmets and short curtains - again because of the space - the windows need curtains to the floor. I would also investigate as to whether you need such a huge radiator under the window - radiators are much more efficient nowadays, and a smaller one would probably suffice, especially in a bedroom.

Consider placing the bed in the middle of the room facing the big window with gorgeous views and all that light from the 2 side windows. Cover the radiator with some sort of attractive cover. You can put in a false half wall behind the bedhead and put all the wardrobes and storage back there creating a dressing room area. Go for natural colours so that the views are the scene stealer.

The print is beautiful. If I were to use this in the bedroom rather than a living space, I would put it behind the head of a four poster bed and then pick out accent plain colours for silk bedding and layering . For the windows you could also pick out plain complementary colours for curtains or add wooden doors Parisian style

Thanks everyone! @Ensign Accessories I haven't got far at all - will find out about the radiator and agree, like the others have said will go for a stronger wall cover. Be brave! @sharon sutton that's interesting about the placement. The wall you cant see has inbuilt wardrobes along but can certain give it a try!

@Danielle Moynihan that's a pretty colour, thanks. I don't know the Little Green paints as well as the F&B one - everyone seems to like them though!

I have used both and Little Green wins hands down for quality , application and colour choice . They will send you a comprehensive and neat package of colour samples on request.

Beautiful room.

Move the radiator and knock the window to full length window.

You could have a Juliette style balcony.

Agree then to put the bed in the middle of the room to take advantage of the views with dressing area behind.

Look at Fresco Bruges wallpaper on all four walls, then pick out colours for bedding.
