I have a cast iron gate that has a hinge fixing near the top of the gate and a vertical floor pivot rod at the bottom. i need to put something down for the pivot rod to sit in to stop it sliding. the floor is the original victorian smooth red brick/tile. thinking of getting a ”gate eye” and cold welding with epoxy? or simply a washer or 2?
