Hey as you can see from photos my living room really needs to be redecorated but don't know how to do it as it's a weird shape I have a young child so got to be baby safe thanks
Is it time to move on from the feature wall? If it were to revert to a painted finish then the cabinet could also move on from gray. I see it serves 2 purposes, so a full coat of paint, including the doors (checking that they are straight and level , i think one might be a little off), would take it to a complete finish. The color on your other walls is fresh and taking this all round will give the whole room a lift. You could then go a white cabinet, the dog beds could remain gray and connect to the current couch.
The additional storage to either side could be made a little more permanent, some cubes with wicker baskets? I see the couch is positioned to be in front of the TV, but maybe it could move a little away from the end wall allowing an arc lamp to be placed behind and out of the way of little people?
Not a full face lift but bringing in white would give the room a lift to make it fresh again.
The wallpaper doesn’t go so I would remove that. I really like the painted wall colour so could you carry that colour round? The curtains don’t look right. I think full length would be better in a similar colour to the walls. Dunelm have a great selection of ready made curtains. A toy basket would be good so all the toys can be put in there at the end of the day. The pictures are all a bit high? They should be at eye level. I would think you want to keep the middle of the room open for your little one to play.
I beg to differ I think your living room is nicely placed everything is in the order it should. If you really want to change, reverse the items meaning that the sofa should be placed at the TV cabinet position and the TV cabinet should be where the sofa was. Form a research standpoint your living room placement is top-notch
