Is it really worth getting the light and space enhancing paint from Dulux? is it effective? Shall I use it for darker or lighter paints, or both? Is it a scam?
Dulux has been a big brand for years - so I doubt it’s a scam. Why not try it in an area you feel it may be useful and see? Wall lighting over art work can be a way of adding ambient lighting into darker spaces too, if you are redecorating anyway .
I did comment on your other post. This paint does add light and I have it in one room. It is already coloured so it’s not just a paint finish but a proper paint with light reflective articles. It only comes in paler shades obviously.
LRV is the only thing that matters if you want to maximise the light in a room, so paint charts that actually give you this number are the ones to look at. It basically tells you how much light is reflected, but paint can never 'create' light, it can only reflect what is already available. Shiny surfaces, mirrors and very good quality lighting are also worth looking at. According to decorators forums the Dulux Space and Light stuff needs the small print checking, possibly good marketing.
