Currently having extension built..the footprint is 4m40 going out x 5.16 across. I was hoping that I could fit an island and dining table in the extension?
Initial thoughts are no, certainly not in the usual layout of a kitchen with island and dining table, but can you do sketch to show where doors/windows are as it could work with a different layout.
Thank you for your reply. We havent got any windows just the french doors. So the wall what has the doors on has a footprint of 5.16 and the other wall has 4.40.
Yes it will fit but it has lots of compromises......
It’s only possible if you have an island no deeper than 90cm, if you accept a tight 95cm of circulation on the kitchen side of the island, if you accept there won’t be room for island stools, if you have a bench against the wall to give more space for dining.
Perhaps the kitchen would be better in the original house and this space could be a new living room as it’s likely bigger than the living room you have.
